I am a Quaker and feel that this is not just a spiritual position, but also a commitment to living life with integrity. I have always tried to live a "moral" life and abhor cruelty, torture, prejudice and anything that tries to take away or deny the dignity and right to life of another human being. I have two grown up children, who seem (by good fortune rather than good parenting!) to have taken on board some of this concern for others. I also have a nine year old and I want him to grow up with integrity. Additionally, I try to be "environmentally friendly" where possible (not easy driving a Volvo Estate!) and importing everything from China is bad for the environment - not to mention a very shortsighted economic policy as far as UK is concerned!
